Background

Sesshu Hayakawa was born in 1891.

Career

Made his movie debut in "Tycoon" and worked for Paramount Pictures. After appearing in several films, he organized his own production around 1920. Went to France (1924) and appeared in many films including "Yoshiwara" and "Macao". After World War II, he appeared in "Three Came Back", an American picture. After returning to Japan, he appeared in "Les Miserables" and other Japanese pictures. Also appeared on the stage.
