Career
He was rector at the teachers college at Stord from 1917 to 1950. He wrote textbooks on history, old Norse and physics. He wrote biographies on Rasmus Løland, Thomas von Westen, Vladimir Lenin and Thomas More.
He served as mayor of Stord from 1935 to 1942.
