Sha Ying studied photography and television at Beijing Broadcasting Institute (now Communication University of China).
Sha Ying studied photography and television at Beijing Broadcasting Institute (now Communication University of China) and graduated from it in 1982.
Sha Ying left China in 1991 to work in Japan and lived in Tokyo until the end of 1993. After living in Tokyo and Hong Kong, he moved to Singapore and settled down there in 1995.
Curious about his new home, Sha Ying wandered the streets after work, using photography to try to know the place better. While fascinated by Singapore’s multicultural society, Sha Ying was also particularly drawn to Chinatown.
He is currently the supervising cameraman at CNBC Asia Pacific headquartered in Singapore.
Sha Ying is a well-known photographer, who has held two solo photography exhibitions at the Substation and the Alliance Francaise de Singapore, where he was also an invited participant for the Month of Photography on several occasions. Besides, his photographic works have also been selected by several art photography books.
