Shang-Shyng Yang, Chinese science educator, editor. Certified in agriculture and microbiology. Named one of Top Ten Young People, Taiwan Junior Chamber, 1983; recipient Research awards National Science Council, 1975-1997, Outstanding Research awards Taiwan Yourt Company, 1996-1998.


Yang, Shang-Shyng was born on August 7, 1944 in Chang-hua, Taiwan. Son of Hsieh-Hua and Hsiu-Rian (Chiaung) Yang.


Bachelor of Science, National Taiwan University, Taipei, 1967. Master of Science, National Taiwan University, Taipei, 1970. Doctor of Philosophy, National Taiwan University, Taipei, 1975.


Research fellow department microbiology and molecular genetics Harvard Medical School, Boston, 1979-1980. Professor National Taiwan University, Taipei, since 1981, chairman department agricultural chemistry, 1989-1992, division head Global Change Research Center, 1993-1998, director Agricultural Exhibition Hall, since 1998. Visiting professor Institute National de la Research Agronomique-Dijon (France) Station de Géne Microbiologique, 1982-1983.
