Born 21 February 1989 in New Delhi, Shashank was interested in music and theatre from a young age. After finishing high school in early 2006, he left for Montreal, Canada to study cinema and music While there, he briefly joined a street theatre group formed by human rights activists.
Shashank Arora first appeared as a supporting character in an indie feature film titled "Myoho" (2012).
He then went on to play the title role in "Titli" (2014) which was a part of the Official Selection, Un Certain Regard at the 2014 Cannes International Festival. He has since finished work on two more feature films, The Song of Scorpions and Rock On!! 2 which are both due for commercial release in India in late 2016.
