Sheila M. Andrew

Sheila M. Andrew was born on September 8, 1938, in Bradford, United Kingdom. She is the daughter of William and Muriel (Green) Cunningham.

Education

Andrew received her education at St. Anne’s College, graduating from it with a bachelor's degree in 1959 and receiving then a master's degree from it. Andrew also attended the University of New Brunswick.

Career

From 1988 and till her retirement, Andrew served as an associate professor of history at St. Thomas University.

Achievements

• Sheila Andrew is best known as the author of historical work, The Development of Elites in Acadian New Brunswick, 1861-1881, where she situates the Acadian experience within the context of other cultural and linguistic minorities.
