Career
She is best known for the songs, "Breakfast in Bed" (#57 United Kingdom, 1979), "The Bed"s Too Big Without You" (#35 United Kingdom, 1981) and "Mellow Mood". Her latest album, Steppin" was released in 2006. As a young woman she listened to and absorbed the works of the greatest female jazz singers.
She also listened to the post-independence Jamaican music
Hylton"s earliest successful recording was a cover of Ebony"s "Life In The Country". Excellent reviews led to Island Records signing her to their Mango label.
Hylton then recorded a version of The Police"s "The Bed"s Too Big Without You" which charted in the United Kingdom. She has also worked as a model and actress.
