Shibukawa Genji was a journalist of the Meiji and Taisho eras. He wrote in an unconventional, soft and humorous style. Also wrote travel sketches, essays and waka poems.
Shibukawa Genji was born in 1874, Saga Prefecture, Japan.
He served in the Russo-Japanese War as Commissioner of the Army and won literary fame by publishing correspondences in newspapers. Later joined the editorial staff of Tokyo Asahi Shimbun (Newspaper) and wielded a powerful pen.
