Graduated from Kobe Higher Commercial School (1915).
Served with Mitsui Bussan Kaisha (Mitsui Product Company or Mitsui & Company) and later became manager of Keijo (Seoul) Branch of Toyo Cotton Company and president of Toyo Menka Boshoku Kaisha (Toyo Cotton Spinning & Weaving Company) (1936). Served also as vice-president of Sen-i Boeki Kodan (Textiles Trading Corporation) (1947-49) and thereafter became president of Toyo Cotton Company and chief director of Nihon Menka Kyokai (Japan Cotton Association) (since 1953).
Held additional posts of director of Nihon Cotton Company and Osaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Director of Federation of Kansai Economic Organizations and chief director of Nihon Men Itonuno Yushutsu Kumiai (Japan Cotton Yarn & Cloth Exporters' Union).
