Education
While having studied at Tokyo Engineering School Shigemune worked at an electric appliance factory.
Career
In 1897 he founded an electric machinery plant in Tsukiji, Tokyo. It developed into the present Meidensha Company, one of the largest electric machinery companies in Japan. Hosui founded the Tanakura Electric Company in 1912.
