Shigetane Suzuki

Background

Shigetane Suzuki was born in 1812 in Awaji Island, Japan. He was a son of Shigetaka Hozumi. His grandfather and father had been ardent students of Shinto and the classics.

Education

In his youth studied in the Kyoto-Osaka area and went to Edo where he became known for his lectures. He often went to Echigo (Niigata Prefecture) and Dewa (Yamagata Prefecture) provinces where he acquired enthusiastic disciples.
