重人 鈴木
Shigeto Suzuki was born in 1828 in Japan.
After the Meiji Restoration (1868) he was appointed a State Councilor. Starting with the first Diet session (1890) he was elected four times to the House of Representatives from Ehime Prefecture.
He left the Jiyuto Party and organized the Domei Club, which later was joined by some Liberals and developed into the Kakushinto Party. When the Liberal and Kaishinto (Progressive) parties merged he joined the new party. When it split again, he cast in his lot with the Kensei Honto Party.
He resigned as a Diet member out of indignation over political corruption. Shortly before the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905), he organized the Tairo Doshikai (Anti-Russian Comrades Society) and advocated a war with Russia. He was active in civil rights movement.
