Career
After the Genko no-Ra Shigeyoshi Uesugi advised Takauji Ashikaga to submit to the Imperial Court. So when Takauji came to invade Kyoto, Shigeyoshi dissuaded him from fighting with Yoshisada Nitta and advised Tadayoshi, Takauji's younger brother to get rid of Moronao Kono (Takauji's cbief retainer) and his brother. Tadayoshi however, failed in his mission and was exiled to Echizen (Fukui Prefecture) where he was assassinated by Moronao.
