Shiko Tsubouchi was born on the 16th of August, 1887 in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Chūbu region, Japan.
Shiko Tsubouchi graduated from Waseda University in English literature (1909), and continued his studies at Harvard University and in London.
Shiko Tsubouchi became instructor at Waseda University, which he left in 1932 to become chief of the Literary Department of Takarazuka Girls Dancing Troupe. While here he made a detailed study of the theater to later become in charge of Toho Film Company's theatrical section.
He was an instructor at the Takarazuka Academy and Waseda University.
