Career
Shimbe Inui began his career as an apprentice with the Inui Brewery in Hyogo and later was adopted by the family. Succeeded to the house (1877). Made a fortune during the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905) by running a transport service with old ships which he bought. Made another fortune during World War I. Later founded the Kobe Trust Co. and became its director (1909).
