Studied at the Kyoto Middle School and taught at several normal schools.
Career
Became editor-in-chief of the Kyoto Shiwpd newspaper. Organized the Keihan Mangetsukai, an association of haiku composers under Shiki influence in the Kyoto-Osaka area, in 1896. Started the haiku magazine Kalceaoi in 1904.
