In 1929, Shin-ichiro Kudo graduated from the English Literature Department of Kyoto University.
In 1929,Shin-ichiro Kudo entered the Mamichi Shimbun newspaper. He served at its European-American Department, at Los Angeles, at Bangkok, and at London. He was appointed chief of the European-American Department of the Tokyo head office (1944) and then director of the Editing Bureau (1951). In 1952, he was appointed editor-in-chief of English edition of The Mainichi and was given a status of executive member.
