From her second year of middle school to her first year of high school, she studied abroad for a Chinese language course for two years. While attending the Chinese language school, she also attended a practical music school.
She is best known for being the leader and main rapper of the South Korean girl group AOA under FNC Entertainment. She knows how to play the guitar, the harmonica, and the piano. AOA Album: Read Out (2016) Solo career On January 12, 2015, it was revealed that Jimin will be part of a variety show called Unpretty Rapstar, a spin-off of the program Show Maine The Money.

The show consists of a single-elimination competition through rap performances. She is also a cast member in the variety show Office to School from 2015.
During Unpretty Rapstar, Jimin released a few collaboration singles such as "T4SA" with Military Cross Meta and Nuck. She also released "Good Start" with Seulong which was produced by Verbal Jint and which peaked at two on the Gaon Chart.
Her rap battle song "Puss" with rapper Iron during the semifinals was also released, peaking at number 1 on the Gaon Chart.
The Move Files teaser for "GOD" was released on April 24, 2015. The full song and the music video was released on April 28, 2015. On April 28, 2015, it was revealed that Jimin had been chosen as a new model for coffee "K’hawah" together with rappers Iron and Rap Monster.
On September 12, 2015, was revealed that Jimin will be part of Let"s Go! Dream Team Chinese Version together with Chanmi.
On February 24, 2016 was revealed that Jimin will be debuting solo on March 3, 2016 with the project OOTD (Outfit Of The Day). The song is going to feature Exo"s Xiumin and is going to be called Call You Bae.
On April 23, 2015, FNC Entertainment announced that the members of the "North Project" were Jimin and North.Flying"s J.Don (formerly known as Seunghyub).
