Shinnai Tsuruga was Japanese Joruri reciter and composer. Originally he was a retainer of the Shogunate, but he took interest in joruri reciting and became a disciple of Satsuma-no-jo Fujimatsu and developed into charming entertainer. His sweet and melodious voice won him great fame, and his tunes came to be called Shinnai-bushi.
