Shinno Koreaki was nominated Shinno (Prince) (1189), and later became a priest under the Buddhist name Seien (1211). It is said that after Emperor Antoku's flight to the west, ex-Emperor Goshirakawa intended to make him Emperor, but as the occult signs were not favorable, his younger brother was crowned instead to become Emperor Gotoba.
