Career
Shikken (Prime Minister) Toki- yori Ho jo requested the Emperor to send Munetaka as Shogun to Kamakura in 1252. The Emperor acceding to the request, he became the sixth Shogun of the Kamakura Shogunate. As Shikken Tokimune suspect-ed him of sinister designs on the Sho- gunate，he sent him back to Kyoto and installed Munetaka^ son, Prince Koreyasu as Shogun in 1266. Munetaka then became a priest under the name Gyoshd. Was a noted writer of waka poems and has compiled an anthology entitled Keigyokushu (Collection of Fine Jewels).
