Shinpei Tsuchiy became employee of Mitsubishi & Company, entered Mitsubishi Marine and Fire Insurance Company and later served as manager of Meiji Fire and Marine Insurance Company after which he became director of Toyo Marine and Fire Insurance Company. He was appointed managing director and then president of Nisshin Fire and Marine Insurance Company.
