Shinshichi Onoe was born in 1745 in Edo (now Tokyo, Japan).
Education
He was a disciple of Kikugoro Onoe.
Career
His early stage name was Sanosuke. Made his debut at the Ichimuraza Theater in Edo (1755). After changing his name to Harugoro, he appeared at the Kadoza Theater in Osaka (1764) and changed his name again to Shichisaburo. Assumed the name of Shinshichi (1766) at the Sounza Theater.
In 1802, he retired and opened a cosmetics store in Kyoto but returned to the stage after one year.
