Shinzaburo Iketani was born in 1900.
Left Tokyo University without graduating to study drama, music and dancing at Berlin University.
Returning home (1923) came into prominence when his novel Bokyd (Homesick) won the Jiji Shimpo literary prize (1924). Later together with Tomoyoshi Murayama, Cho juro Kawarazaki and others founded Kokoroza, a theatrical company. Had an urbane style but critics were of the opinion that his works lacked power and were apt to be flippant. Among his works are "Peopie Waiting to Return" and "The Dutch Doil."
