Education
He was initiated into priesthood on Mount Hiei at the age of nine. Became a disciple of Kian of the Nanzenji Temple (1293). Studied under Muin at the Kenninji Temple in Kamakura (from 1297).
Career
Became a priest of the Ankokuji Temple in Ise Province (Mie Prefecture) (1332) and then the 15th head of the Tofukuji Temple. Moved to the Nanzenji Temple (1339).
