Shirley DeVoe has gathered a rich history of the manufacturing process and methods of decoration. Education
Devoe attended Columbia University and the Juilliard School, and also studied decorative arts at the studio of Esther Stevens Brazer.
Career
Devoe began her career as a writer in 1950, contributing essays on art and artists to such publications as The Oxford Dictionary of Useful Arts, as well as to antique journals and to the magazine Country Life. She travelled frequently to Europe to research her interest in the decorative arts.
