1960 version of "Pinneyo Rama?" and renamed, "Tiger in the Mountain." This children's book is about a poor young lad's who grows up in Kadaikanal, in the Palni hills, in the late 50's 60's who love for books and reading. He attends school, unlike other village children. His father is illiterate mother sells vegetables. It was published by and won the Charles W. Follett award for worthy contribution to literature for young people. Author Shirley L. Arora. This is a character-building and a true testament to what an education can do for a younger despite his environment. This book has been translated into many languages and I believe the movie, "Bettada Hoovu" in Kannada, (meaning, Mountain Flower in English) is based on "What then, Raman?"
