Shiroji Yoki was born in 1901 in Fukushima, Japan.
After graduating from Law Department of Tokyo University (1927), entered the Foreign Ministry and assigned to England, Germany, Manchuria, America and Thailand.
Immediately before the outbreak of the war, proceeded to Washington accompanying Ambassador Kurusu. Following the end of the war, served as director of the Kyushu Office of the Postwar Liaison Bureau and then appointed director of the Overseas Office at Stockholm. With re-establishment of diplomatic relations with foreign countries, was appointed Minister to Sweden, and concurrently to Norway and Denmark. Returned to Japan (1953). Appointed Minister to Ceylon (1955), and to Turkey (1957).
