She was previously a model and was Mission Australia in 2003. Born in Melbourne, Australia, Field moved to the United States in 2004. Three months after the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, she visited Sri Lanka to host a documentary on relief and reconstruction efforts.
She volunteered with the American Red Cross and other organizations in Louisiana in 2006 in response to Hurricane Katrina.
Field was married to recording artist Michael Lington for 5 years. She holds a journalism degree and was managing director of a public relations firm before reporting and producing for television
