Background

Shoeni Ikeda was born in 1888.

Education

At first she was a pupil of Manneu Mizuno and then of Gyokudo Kawai.

Achievements

• Came into prominence when her painting Wag a Hnto (my dove) won the first prize. Later her works were exhibited for ten years straignt in the art exhibitions staged by the Ministry of Education. Representative works are Momo-no-Yoir Utage-no-Hima and Kozo-no-Kyo.
