Shoichi Noma joined South Manchuria Railway Company. When he was chief of its General Affairs Section he became the president of the Kodansha Publishing Company. He was also president of the King Gramophone Company, which is affiliated with the Kodansha. The Kodansha, founded by Seiji Noma, publishes eight popular magazines and also books, being the largest publishing firm in Japan.
