Editor-in-chief, Free Chinese Monthly, Boston, 1981-1983; associate professor, National Taiwan U., Taipei, 1985-1995; chairman, Bridge Across the Straits Foundation, China, since 1989; chairman, National Defense Committee, Legislation Yuan, Taipei, 1990-1991; deputy director, Department Youth Affairs, Kuomintang, Taipei, 1993-1994; deputy majority party leader, Legislation Yuan, China, since 1995.
