In 1920 Shu Kurihara graduated from Political Science Department of Tokyo University.
Career
Shu Kurihara served at Rizaikyoku (Financial Bureau) of Finance Ministry and then as director of Direct Tax Department of Kumamoto Tax Supervision Bureau and thereafter held important posts at various local tax offices and Finance Ministry.
In 1941 Shu Kurihara was appointed as a director of Tokyo Zaimukvoku (Tokyo Regional Financial Bureau). Resigned the above post and became director of General Affairs Bureau of Nippatsu (Nihon Electric Power Supply Company). Later served successively as lecturer of Hosei University, president of Karafuto (Saghalien) Coal Mining Company, auditor of Hassoden Kogyo Kaisha (Electric Generation & Transmission Company) and general managing director of Japan Electric Power Supply Company.
