His internal product development operation includes studios in Foster City, CA, San Diego, CA, Santa Monica, CA, Bend, Oregon, and Salt Lake City, Utah. Yoshida joined Sony Corporation in 1986, where he was involved in the corporate strategy group, as well as coordinating the PC business. Yoshida has many best-selling titles under his belt, including SCEA's premier online game with voice-enabled headset Socom: U.S. Navy Seals, as well as Jak and Daxter, Twisted Metal: Black, and ATV Offroad Fury.
In the studio, Yoshida was executive producer for. Gran Turismo, Ape Escape, The Legend of Dragoon, and other titles. Yoshida earned his Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Kyoto University in Japan and his master's degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles.
In November 2013 Yoshida appeared in the official PlayStation 4 unboxing video. He portrays a gentleman thief/phantom thief-esque dark figure who, wearing coffee-brown-colored leather gloves (the only detail the viewer can see of the figure), slowly and methodically unwraps the contents of the PlayStation 4 box. At the end of the video it is revealed that the dark figure is indeed Yoshida, and he closes with telling the audience "Greatness Awaits", in reference to the upcoming PS4 release.
In 2013, Yoshida gained significant popularity due to his largely increased openness and presence with consumers and the gaming industry around the announcement and the launch of the PlayStation 4.
Additionally, he was one of the initial members of the PlayStation project in February 1993, where as the lead account executive he headed Inc.'s third party licensing program.
