Shuji Mita, Japanese neurologist, researcher. Achievements include research in establishment of DNA diagnosis of Familial amyloidotic polyneuropathy; research in relationship between mitochondrial DNA mutations and muscle pathology; research in gene therapy of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis using SOD1 mice, adenoviral vectors and human Bcl-2.
