Shumon was a Buddhist psiest of the Rinzai Sect. Two hundred and thirty-ninth head of the Daitokuji Temple in Kyoto. Ex-Emperor Nakamikado accorded him posthumously the name of Enki Shingo Zenji (1721).

Shumon was born im 1633. His other name was Shitsukyu and his pseudonym Mujuken.
