Career
Fifth generation head of the Keikoin Nunnery at Uji-Yamada (Mie Prefecture). Shuyo, the fourth head of the nunnery made tours of various provinces soliciting contributions to the fund of rebuilding the Ise Grand Shrines.
Shusei also collected contributions to the fund for rebuilding the shrines. She was respected by Shogun Iemitsu Tokugawa and the Imperial Court.
