Lou, Shyi-Neng was born in 1957 in Keelung, Taiwan. Son of Chang-Hsian Lou and Sho-Yi Chen.

Bachelor in Agriculture Science, National Taiwan Ocean University, 1979. Master of Science, National Taiwan Ocean University, 1981. Doctor rerum naturalium (Doctor in Sciences), University Hamburg, Germany, 1992.

Career

Senior technican Bureau Commodity Inspection and Quarantine, Ministry Economic Affairs, Taipei, 1984—1986. Associate professor department food science National Ilan University, Taiwan, 1993—1997, professor department food science Taiwan, since 1997, chairman department food science Taiwan, since 2004. 2nd lieutenant Taiwanese Marines, 1981-1983.
