Shyogo Koide graduated from the Commercial Section of Waseda University (1918).
Later engaged in trade with the Netherland Indies and stayed in the Netherland Indies and China. Then, from 1928 to 1944 served as professor of Meiji Gakuin College. In 1921, published his first book "Saint Francis and His Little Brothers". In 1924, Shyogo Koide received the Fairy Tale Prize from the Fairy Tale Writers Association. His famous stories include "White Sparrows", "The Equator Festival" and "The Balloon Beetle."
