Sian Nicholas

Sian Nicholas was born on December 23, 1964, in New Haven, New Haven Country, Connecticut, United States.

Education

In 1986 Sian Nicholas received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the New Hall (now Murray Edwards College). In 1988 she obtained a Master of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 1992 Nicholas gained a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Nuffield College, Oxford.

Career

From 1991 to 1992 Sian Nicholas was a research fellow at Institute of Historical Research at the University of London. In 1992 she was appointed a lecturer in history at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth (now Aberystwyth University).

Achievements

• Sian Nicholas is best known as an author of "The Echo of War: Home Front Propaganda and the Wartime BBC, 1939-45". Her other writings include two radio series on the history of the British Broadcasting Corporation, broadcast by BBC Radio.
