Minott placed 3rd runner-up in the national competition. Minott is a former student at Palm Beach Atlantic University, having majored in psychology with a minor in musical theatre.

She previously held the title of Mission Palm Beach County 2008, and received preliminary swimsuit and evening gown awards at Mission Florida, making her the second Mission Florida to be a double preliminary winner. Minott represented Florida at the 2009 Mission America Pageant and placed in the top 5, as the 4th runner-up to Mission America. Sierra Minott was also Mission Florida"s Outstanding Teen 2005 and competed in the first Mission America"s Outstanding Teen pageant.
