Achievements
In 1908 Sigurd Mathisen improved the world record on 500m, finishing on 44.4 seconds (sharing the record with Johan Vikander, who also finished on 444 seconds in the same event). The record lasted four years, until beaten by Oscar Mathisen in 1912.
