Background
Sikhibhushan Dutt was born on the 29th of December, 1901 in Narayangunj, undivided Bengal (now Bangladesh). He was the son of Sasi Bhushan and Suruchi Bala Datta.

Education
In 1919 Sikhibhushan Dutt graduated from the Calcutta University and got a Bachelor of Arts degree; in 1921 Dutt graduated from Calcutta University - Master of Arts (Chemistry) (First Class Hons.); in 1924 he received the Diploma of Imperial College, London; in 1925 he graduated from the London University - Doctor of Science (Chemistry).
Career
In 1925-1944 Dutt was a Reader in Chemistry at Allahabad University. Since 1944, he was the Professor & Head of Chemistry Department at Delhi University. Toured U.K., France & Germany.
