Simeon Adlow Friedberg, American Physicist, educator. Achievements include studies of magnetic ordering in many compounds of transition series and rare earth metals by magnetic, thermal and neutron scattering methods with emphasis on quasi-one-and two-dimensional spin systems, singlet ground-state systems, magnetic critical phenomena and phase diagrams, and the role of magnons in heat transport.
