Prior to that was the Director of Immigration for the Immigration Department of Hong Kong. Peh Yun Lu graduated from Pui Ching Middle School of Hong Kong in 1973. He completed college in 1978 and joined the Immigration Department as an Immigration Officer.
In 1984, he was promoted to Senior Immigration Officer, and Chief Immigration Officer in 1991.
In 2004, he began serving as Assistant Director of Immigration. In April 2008, Peh was appointed to Director of Immigration when Lai Tung-kwok accepted to serve as Under Secretary for Security position.
He retired in April 2011. Eric Chan replaced Peh as the next Director of Immigration.
