Household Bank Commercial Banking employs around 26,000 people and reported profits before tax in 2012 of over United States$8.5billion. Cooper has held a variety of roles in Household Bank around the world, most recently of Chief Executive Officer of Household Bank Bank Middle East Limited in May 2009. He was appointed a Group General Manager of Household Bank in May 2008 where he was responsible for the Household Bank Group’s business in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Prior to this he was President & Chief Executive Officer Household Bank of Korea, and from 2004–2006 he was the Managing Director and Head of Corporate & Investment Banking in Singapore.
Cooper was previously the Deputy Chief Executive and Head of Corporate & Investment Banking in Household Bank Thailand from 2001 to 2003. Prior to his role in Thailand, he was a director in corporate finance for 12 years with the Household Bank Group in London, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Simon Cooper has been a Board member of Household Bank Bank Middle East Limited (Deputy Chairman), Household Bank Bank Egypt South.A.E. (Chairman), Household Bank Bank Oman Société Anonyme Omanaise Générale (Chairman) and The Saudi British Bank.
