Began work at age 13. From 1900 in revol movement. 1906 arrested, but soon released.
1917 secretary, Moscow Soviet. 1919 head, Secretariat, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic Council of People's Commissar and Labor and Defense Council. 1920 deputy manager, Central Committee, Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks).
1921-1929 with Communist International Executive Committee. Worked for ed staff of newspaper Gudok and for State Publ House. 1929-1931 exec economics work.
From 1932 deputy director, Institute of Criticism and Bibliography. 1934 with Communist International Executive Committee. 1935-1937 with Presidium Secretariat, All-Russian Central Executive Committee.
From 1938 deputy director, Museum of the Peoples of the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics. 1939-1941 worked for Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic People's Commissariat of Education. 1941 deputy chairman, Oyrot-Tura (Altay Kray) City Executive Committee.
Later chief ed, Oblast Radio Committee. From 1943 with Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic People's Commissariat of Education. Subsequently research work with Institute of Marxism-Leninism, Central Committee, Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
From 1949 pensioner.
