Career
He founder of the Soga school of painting in Indian ink. Different versions of his biography are given. A retainer of the Asakuras in Echizen Province (Fukui Prefecture), he went to Kyoto and studied under Shiibun. Lived at the Daitokuji Temple and was a disciple of Ikkyu, Chief Abbot of the temple.
