Soga no Emishi was born in 587 in Japan.
In the reign of Empress Regnant Suiko, he became a ministry succeeding his father, Umako. After the Empress died, he and other courtiers made Emperior Jomei ascend the throne.
After the demise of Emperor Jomei, his consort ascended the throne (Empress Regnant Kogyoku). Emishi became arrogant under her rule, gave a purple crown to his son, Iruka, and called him minister. He drafted a great number of people to build a great tomb for his father .
On the day after his son, Iruka, was killed in the palace by Prince Nakano-Oe and Kamatari Fujiwara, Emishi killed himself in his residence after setting fire to it. A great amount of government chronicles, other valuable documents and treasures were destroyed in the fire.
She was a wife of Emperor Jomei and bore Emperor Jomei one daughter Princess Yata.
