He taught at several middle schools and meanwhile studied modern Japanese history, on which he remains an authority today. Has written several books on the subject, including "History of Social Movement in Japan", "People's Liberty and Rights", "Origins of Japanese Fascism" and a history of the Meiji Restoration.
